Data Disclaimer

DRAFT — not legal advice. Plain-language draft for an invite-only pilot. Have a qualified attorney review before relying on it.

Effective date: November 2, 2026

Research tool only

ScoutTract helps you research land and minerals. It is not a survey, title opinion, abstract, appraisal, or legal, engineering, geologic, or environmental advice, and it is not an official determination of anything, including flood zones, zoning, ownership, mineral rights, or boundaries.

Where the data comes from

Maps, parcels, tax records, geology, wells, groundwater, hazards, historical mines, DOT aggregate sources, Texas survey and abstract data, and other layers come from public government and third-party sources. We do not create or control that data.

It may be wrong

Source data can be incomplete, inaccurate, out of date, or misaligned on the map. Some locations, such as approximate DOT pit locations, are estimates that may be miles from the real site. Sources can change or go offline without notice.

Verify before you rely on it

Always check information with the official source and a qualified professional (such as a licensed surveyor, attorney, or engineer), and confirm locations on the ground, before you buy, lease, drill, dig, travel, or make any decision.

Respect property and safety

Showing a location in ScoutTract does not give you permission to enter it. Get the landowner's permission before going onto private land, follow posted rules on public land, and stay away from old mines, pits, and quarries, which can be deadly.

Your risk

All information is provided "as is," without any warranty. You use it at your own risk. Mike Lang (M.L.), the operator of ScoutTract, is not liable for any loss or damage arising from its use.
